ABOUT OUR ACCOMODATION

Our rooms give the distinct, unique local feeling. At La Siboneya you will get to know what the famous Cuban hospitality is like, not feel like a crammed touist. Our rooms are clean and the walls, doors and windows tell the history of the city. They also come with modern amenities such as air conditioning, a fan, a double bed, closet, towels, well stocked with shampoo and other amenities incl., hair dryer. and access to private bathroom or one shared with one other bedroom because of the traditional layout of the house. It is possible to add an extra bed for a child or a friend. A short walk away great ice cream, restaurants, bars and night clubs. A bustling park with internet down the road, and many sights nearby, incl. Revolution Square, Historic Center, University of Havana to name a few.

The space

Beautiful rooms accessed from the patio of the house, with tall ceilings and large wooden windows and doors, and exquisite tiled floors, all kept in original condition. The bed is queen size, hand crafted in Cuba, as well as the night stands, and sitting stools.

Guest access

Guests have access to all areas of the house except for the kitchen/dining room. We are happy to provide you with a continental breakfast for an additional fee of 5 CUC per person. Breakfast includes coffee, eggs (of your chosen style) with ham and cheese, and bread with butter and jam, as well as fruit.

Other things to note

Useful information to make your stay easier and more comfortable.

WATER: water in Cuba should not be drank directly from the tap. It is recommended to buy bottled water. Your studio apartment is equipped with a fridge for your convenience. You can also purchase water directly from the host.

CURRENCY: MLC or CUP. The MLC is a cuban free convertible currency which is only electronic. Ifyou want to pay in cash in Cuba, you must convert your foreign currency to CUP, cuban pesos.

INTERNET: It is possible nowadays to purchase 3G mobile phone cards which give you access to internet and the freedom to make phone calls and arrangements more easily during your stay. These cards can be purchased at Etecsa selling points and your host will be happy to assist you with this if necessary.

Cuban homes, with few exceptions, do not enjoy internet access. There are now WIFI spots all over the city where people can access the internet by purchasing an internet card beforehand. In most places there will be people informally selling these cards on the streets, at a higher price than usual. Close to the house there is a mall called In Plaza Carlos III, on the third floor, with my mom's help you can buy an internet card for 5 hours that costs 7.50 CUC. Then you can use that card at the Wifi spots and at the Hotel Plaza in the old town.
